Steph: I’m thinking about starting an herb garden. Do you have any advice for me?
Devin: I’d suggest growing basil. It’s a good thing to grow because you can make pesto out of that.
Steph: Oh. That’s a good idea. Um, where should you grow it, inside or outside?
Devin: It does best in the direct sunlight. So probably outside would be better.
Steph: Do you think it’ll grow in the fall or in the spring or in the winter?
Devin: It might be good to wait ‘til after winter’s over and, uh, plant in the springtime. ‘Cause it will really take off in the, uh, spring sun and the warm weather. It will do quite well.
Steph: Oh good. Um, well, do you think I should do it then inside of my kitchen in the winter or outside, if I want to grow it in the winter.
Devin: Uh, probably outside I would say.
Steph: OK.
Devin: But, uh, it might do well inside. You could probably do an experiment and grow some plants inside and some out in the direct light, in the sun. And see which ones do better.
Steph: Yeah. OK. Cool. All right. Well, thanks for your advice.
