Going on a date can be very stressful. You have to look your best and hope you don’t say something silly or embarrassing. In 1998, Rabbi Yaacov Deyo realized how complicated dating could be. He decided to host an event where single Jewish people could meet and mingle. They would have ten minutes to talk to a possible romantic partner. When ten minutes was up, he rang a bell, and all the people had to switch to a new partner. He invented speed dating!

Since then, speed dating has grown into a social event that can be found in most cities in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Speed dating is a great way to exchange thoughts and ideas with other single people. If you keep an open mind and try putting your best foot forward, you could meet a really lovely person.

Jordin and Romeo are speed dating. Listen as they get to know each other.

Jordin:  Hi! So, I guess we only have a minute. Right?

Romeo:  Uh. Are we on a date?

Jordin:  Yeah, speed dating. You know…

Romeo:  Oh, man.

Jordin:  Uh. So, tell me about yourself. Quick!

Romeo:  I knew it! My friend set me up on this thing. He just thinks I need to start seeing someone. It’s been awhile since I’ve been in a relationship. So…

Jordin:  Ah.

Romeo:  Um, yeah. So, I guess there it is. I was in a long-distance relationship for three years, and that kind of went in a different turn than I expected. And here I am. My friend thinks that I need to get out there. And so, he told me to dress up. And he told me that we were going to come to someplace to mingle. And here I am. I guess I only have one minute, and I’m… you look great! Tell me about yourself.

Jordin:  Oh, that… that’s sweet. Well, it seems like you’re doing great! You’re just looking for romance. And you’re putting your best foot forward, it seems like. But anyway, about me! Me. I hate talking about myself. I am a veterinarian. I have four cats and an iguana.

Romeo:  Wow.

Jordin:  I know iguanas might… people might think that’s kind of weird. But I hope you can just, you know, keep an open mind about that. That’s really special.

Romeo:  Yeah, yeah. You’ve got to, like, keep an open mind. I like that. Well, um, I think we’re running out of time. And…

Jordin:  Oh, yeah. I think…

Romeo:  … maybe, we should, like, exchange numbers right now.

Jordin:  OK. Here you go!

Romeo:  Oh! Thank you!

Jordin:  Bye.

Jordin says hello to Romeo, who asks her if they are on a date. She tells him yes, they are speed dating. Romeo explains that his friend set him up on this speed date. It has been awhile since he’s been in a relationship. His friend is trying to help him get out there and mingle. Jordin tells Romeo that he’s doing great by putting his best foot forward.

Romeo asks Jordin to tell him about herself. She says she hates talking about herself. She says she is a veterinarian with four cats and an iguana. She hopes he can keep an open mind about that. He says keeping an open mind is important. They are almost out of time, so Romeo asks Jordin for her phone number. She gives it to him.

Have you ever been speed dating? What is the funniest date you have ever been on?

I never been in an “official” speed dating event. However, it’s normal when people go out and they are not in a relationship, things could happen as you mingle!! So, I could say that it occurs sometimes in moments that I was not in a relationship, meet girls and have short or longer relationships! In those situations i tried to put my best foot forward (joking)!!...

I remember the day that I meet an Italian girl in a funny way in a disco! I ended visiting her in Rome!

I was single and I was looking for some one on instagram app. Finally I found some one who accepted my request. she was a student at Birjand university where I lived. So she was perfect for me. we had a date in front of her dormitory. when I got there, there were so many beautiful and gorgeous girls in front of dormitory and I couldn’t found her. when I phoned her, she suddenly appeared between that chicks with a huge body. I laughed to my chance and I gave her up.
