In Sudan About 84% Of All Girls And Women Are Illiterate Which Makes It Even Harder For Them To Earn Their Living In A Least Developed Country Like This One!

When I took the bus yesterday the bus driver had his radio on. I don’t know which channel this was, but a news reporter reported about Sudan that as it seems currently faces a spread of cholera and the measles – plus Corona of course. Plus in some regions they face floodings. And there are conflicts between armed groups.

The German newspaper ‘GEA’ says that in Sudan’s capital Karthum animals – among them lions belonging to the zoo of Karthum – and their owners alike are starving. Since the current provisory government replaced Omar al-Baschir last year after many violent protests food supply has become a major problem. Thus the price you have to pay for food (even animal food) meanwhile is ridiculously high in all of Sudan.

The German newspaper ‘GEA’ says that all around the world about 840 millions of people still don’t have access to electricity. Almost 3/4 of them live in Africa. The biggest group of people among these 3/4 is located to the South of the Sahara Desert like Mauretania, Mali, Niger, Chad and Sudan.

The German Roman-Catholic radio station ‘Vatican News’ says that despite the treaty signed by Sudan’s president Salva Kiir and by Rieck Machar they still don’t do anything that would really help fighting the many conflicts Sudan has. Even worse both sides seem to ignore parts of this treaty, like separation of powers or searching for solutions for these conflicts together.
