Today (15 March) we have a national holiday in Hungary. The Hungarian Revolution of 1848 broke out on this day. The revoulution in Hungary grew into a war for independence from Habsburg rule, and it was closely linked to other revolutions of 1848 in Habsburg areas. The war was beaten down.
